How to create a website

Steps for building a website :

1. Determine the purpose of the website.

2. Outline the website so that there is a general organization before beginning.

3. Go to a website builder, such as wix.com

4. Select “create a website”.

5. Choose a template that fits the purpose and feel of your website.

6. Determine the theme for your website:  what colors, fonts, etc. would best support your purpose?

7. Use the features on the left side of the website editor to add features.

   1. Add a title so that visitors know they have arrived at the correct website.

   2. Add text instructions or explanations to add further clarity.

   3. Add buttons that will eventually link to other pages.

      1. When you are ready to add links, right click the button

      2. Input the target of the button

   4. Insert the pages that the buttons will link to.

      1. Add titles, instructions, a home button, etc. to these pages

      2. Assure that the theme remains consistent throughout each of the pages.

   5. Insert graphics that support your theme to make it more visually engaging.

8. Be sure to save your work as you go.

9. In the upper right corner, click “Preview” so you can see how it looks to viewers.

10. When ready to go live, click “Publish”
